Product History for Zutrol and Betatrol

The herbal products of Bio Life Remedies were developed from a collection of herbal formularies. The majority of formularies was developed, collected and refined based on TCM practices over a period of more than 180 years by TCM experts. One formulary developed in about 75 years ago was found to be especially effective for diabetes, which in TCM is called “Xiaoke”. The formulary has show a twin-link medical efficacy in diabetic treatment where diabetes and it’s associate complications were simultaneously treated. By taking this unique prescribed medicine, diabetic patients felt better and better and various symptoms got removed finally. Through long period of clinical application, it was verified that this medicine is very efficacious and safe for diabetics and with no side effects.

In the late Nineties, a group of TCM experts, Herbologists, Pharmacists and Pharmaceutists come together aiming to commercialize this diabetic formulary. The first barrier to commercialization is the traditional delivering method. In this method, the medicinal herbs have to be decocted in water and the patient has to drink the concentrated liquid medicine, which tastes badly. Our research also reviewed that the original decocting method limits the full efficiency of active ingredients thus lead to a lower than expected effective rate. The delivering method must be radically innovated and new technology must be adopted. After several months of researches and trials, a product in capsule form was successfully developed. We have adopted an advanced technique “Flora Cell Wall Breaking Technology” so that the effective ingredients inside the cell could be fully released to provide it’s medical effect. Through clinical inspection, therapeutic effects are excellent. The effective rate reached more than 90%; the laboratory tests of the patients’ health revealed that the patients’ cholesterol, triglyceride, glucose fasting and hemoglobin A 1c readings were improved evidently. At the same time we noticed that those diabetics with renal impairment were showing signs of recovery with their CREA, BUN and Urine Protein, etc all tended to normal direction. Another inspiring result is that patients taking external insulin were able to reduce their insulin intakes.

We made further research and experiments to address the large dosage and slight uncomfortable feeling in the stomach for some patients. Further studies made clear that the stimulation to the stomach is due to the shell of the capsule and later we have successfully developed a product in tablet form. This tablet model is satisfying that there is no more stimulation to the stomach and the functions of the tablets are much strengthened. The time to take medical effect comes faster and the actions of Twin-Link Medical Efficacy become more evident. It is also effective for non-diabetic uremic patients to recover their kidney functions. It is inspiring that this model is not only therapeutic for diabetics and its complications, but also it is helpful for the prevention of diabetes, heart and circulatory illness and renal impairment. We have named the product Betatrol.

In the course of the development, we have also developed a new model based on the same formulary; we have named this model Zutrol and a technique called High Concentration Extracting Technology was applied in the process. This model has stronger therapeutic actions and the Twin-Link Medical Efficacy was further strengthened. Some diabetic patients had their complications cured such as skin infections and diarrhea all year round.
