My dad, age 79, has been a type 2 diabetic for many years, taking insulin 3 times per day. Needless to say, it had been challenging at best to balance and coordinate meal schedules, meal content, activities, glucose readings, and insulin amounts to maintain a decent measure of stable health and measured glucose readings.

At times he would have elevated readings which resulted in his feeling tired and sluggish. He also has had a problem with urinary urgency and frequency. This made it difficult to live a normal life with regular activities.

In October of 2003, my dad began taking the Zutrol herbal product on a regular basis which means taking the tablets three times per day. He takes his glucose readings three to four times per day to monitor closely his need for daily insulin and his progress.

Almost immediately, he began to feel better and had more energy. We, the family, noticed that he looked more alert and had greater energy and mobility.

Further, his urinary problem has improved and he no longer has the urgency and discomfort that he had experienced for some time. The frequency of trips has been reduced as well. In this respect, we are also hopeful that we will see continued improvement in his progress over time.

We are especially pleased with this progress as the medical doctors had given him prescriptions with no results.

More recently, my dad has been able to keep his glucose readings at a lower level and within narrower ranges on a more consistent basis. Reducing volatility is a great health benefit and he has been able to do so using less insulin. As a general rule, unless he violates his discipline and has some chocolates on a rare occasion, his insulin use has decreased between 30 and 40%. We are quite pleased with this improvement. We are also hopeful that pancreatic cells will be regenerated to reduce further, or even ultimately eliminate, the need for insulin injections.

To summarize, my dad can see and feel the results and he is quite excited about his daily progress. We hope that others who are considering these supplements will be encouraged and will see similar results.
